FINDING SOLUTIONS TO JOB MISMATCH: President Aquino is at the forefront of addressing job mismatch in the country and TESDA plays a crucial role. Through the leadership of Secretary Joel Villanueva, TESDA closely dialogues with industry partners to know their employment needs. TESDA also serves as a link between local government units and the industry in providing technical education and skills training to employable constituents. DOLE initiated the congress and was attended by the education tripartite, DepED, TESDA and CHED along with DSWD and DOST. TESDA is also an attached agency of DOLE. The opening program of the congress was attended by President Aquino.
During his speech, President Aquino gave a good-natured banter to Sec Joel in saying: “Secretary Joel Villanueva, baka for now, baka next year hindi ka na secretary” to everyone’s laughter.
