TESDA Director General Sec. Sid Lapeña officially witnessed the profiling of 25 Community Integrators (CIs) or rebel returnees, held in the 73rd Infantry Battalion (IB) Headquartes, Malita, Davao Occidental on August 2, 2019. 

Deputy Director  General (DDG) for TESD Operations, Gladys Rosales, TESDA  Xl Regional Director Lorenzo G. Macapili, and TESDA Davao Occidental Provincial Director and the current Vocational Schools  Administrator, Engr. Alfredo V. Panuela Jr., joined the TESDA chief during the profiling. 

Lapeña was also invited to stand as a godfather to four B'laan couples who were married in the headquarters during the visit.

Secretary Lapeña was in the province to visit the TESDA Davao Occidental Provincial Office, and see the 150 square meter lot donated by LGU where new TESDA office and training center will be built, when he was invited by the 73rd IB Headquarters Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Valdez to attend the profiling and the wedding ceremony. 

Profiling, a career guidance program, is held to provide guidance and assistance to the students, out-of-school youth, and unemployed individuals in choosing the right qualification or training course. 

In his message, Lapeña expressed his joy of being a godfather to the four newlyweds, who are also part of the profiling.

Lapeña also emphasized in his message that the skills training programs are open to the members of the IB as well.

He further explained that aside from the provincial training centers (PTCs) and regional training centers (RTCs), training programs are available at various communities in the province.
