TESDA partners with Bizooku Philippines for mobile app

TAGUIG CITY—The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) mobile application is now available for download in both Google and Apple Play Stores.

TESDA and Bizooku Philippines Inc. forged a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and developed a mobile application that provides users information on the different technical-vocational education and training (TVET) programs offered by the agency. They will officially launch the said app on Monday, November 4.

E-learning video clips from the TESDA Online Program (TOP) can be viewed in the self- branded app, as well as latest news about the programs of the agency, list of training programs, frequently asked questions (FAQs), addresses of the registered training centers, and regional and provincial office directory.

There are also buttons directly linking to steps on how to apply for different TESDA scholarships, and other features like the TESDA Women’s Center.

"We're honored to work with TESDA on this project," said Alejandro Chiongbian, President of Bizooku Philippines Inc in a statement.

"They have a wide range of learning programs and we use our platform to organize the content in the mobile app so it will be easier for Filipinos to discover available courses they might be interested in," Chiongbian added.

Bizooku Philippines Inc. is an affiliate company of Bizooku based in the USA that helps its clients build contextual and adaptive mobile platforms. These features can be seen in the app as it enables real time app updates, dynamic design, and content changes based on location and schedule.

TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña further recognizes the initiative of Bizooku Philippines, Inc. to help the agency bridge information needs and extend its services to more people in a more advanced and more modern platform—online.

“As more and more people rely on their mobile phones for communication and information, the more this TESDA app becomes very timely and relevant. We also want to connect closer to our younger clients, the youth, who are usually online. They will be happy with this mobile app,” Lapeña added.

The partnership between TESDA and Bizooku is a reflection of their shared vision to make learning more accessible for the Filipino community, empowering them and paving the way for various employment opportunities.

With this development, TESDA is now one of the few government agencies that has mobile applications up and running like the Social Security System (SSS) with their SSS Mobile, the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA) with their DOST-PAGASA Mobile App, and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) with their Fault Finder.

Like these agencies, TESDA wants to utilize smart phone applications, modern technology, and trends to effectively and conveniently share information and services, and communicate with mobile users. (END)
