SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA gamely accepted the impromptu barista skills demonstration challenge by BCSAT barista students and members of the media right after the Barista school was formally opened during his visit in the Baguio City School of Arts and Trade (BCSAT). BCSAT is a TESDA run Training Institute in the heart of Baguio City which produces more that a thousand graduates every year. Sec Joel displayed his barista skills to students, TESDA CAR officials and visitors explaining different ways to make hot and cold coffee concoctions. He also demonstrated his latte art as part of barista skills competency. Walking his talk, Sec Joel took the TESDA course Food and Beverage Services and is now a National Certificate (NC) II holder and a certified barista.

Sec Joel personally awarded the newly opened BCSAT course Barista NC II Certificate of Training Registration (COPR) to Engr. David Bungallon, the BCSAT and TESDA-Regional Training Center administrator along with the school officials and TESDA-CAR officers.

After the demo, barista students, officials and tech-voc association officials took the opportunity to have a photo with the Sec Joel.

“I am actually impressed with our worldclass Barista set-up here in our very own Baguio City School of Arts & Trade. This only proves that our fellow kababayans, especially our youth here in Baguio-Benguet can now enjoy a worldclass training and education that our government provides.”

“Sa TESDA, may choice ka.” – SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA
