Almost 1,000 survivors of typhoon Yolanda from different municipalities in Cebu province received their graduation certificates in a ceremony led by Secretary Joel Villanueva under the TESDA program Skills Training for Livelihood Assistance (STLA) in Bogo City, Cebu. The graduates took courses on Masonry, Shielded Metal Arc Wielding, Carpentry, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, and Plumbing. The graduates also received tool kits to be used in starting their own trade for those taking the self-employment track.

Three families also received newly built houses courtesy of TESDA in partnership with the Local Government of Cebu and Bogo City led by Governor Hilarion Davide III and City Mayor Celestino Junee Martinez, Sr.

- SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA
