Among the twelve (12) competitors, two from our TESDA run Technical Institute emerged as winners in the recently held CALABARZON Get Your Gulay On, Gulay Cookfest in Rogationist College, Silang Cavite which was attended by our very own Secretary Joel Villanueva and Bro. Armin Luistro of DepEd. Ms. Zenaida Afable of the TESDA Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS) grabbed the first place with her Pumpkin Roll, Mr. Oliver Selves from Standard Culinary and Technical Skill Training Center got the second place with his squash/camote and malungay Custard Cake and Ms. Teofila Delos Reyes from TESDA run Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School of Arts and Trade got the third place with her Veggie Butterscotch entry.
Judges of the The Gulay Cookfest were pupils from ten (10) elementary schools in Silang, Cavite judging the entries based on presentation and taste. The cookfest aims to identify nutritious snack that elementary school aged children will like and is organized by DepEd and TESDA.
