Cappuccino coffee ingredient on a world-class salmon dish? It’s not impossible with Idol Ko Si Chef, Idol Ko Si Sec back-to-back Skills Demonstration. Right after the graduation in Barangay Sta Cruz in Antipolo, the venue was quickly transformed into a makeshift kitchen for the popular coffee barista SEC JOEL VILLANUEVA, a holder of Food and Beverage (F&B) National Certificate (NC) III, and Commercial Cooking NC IV holder and TESDA Ambassador Celebrity Chef BOY LOGRO to demonstrate skills in their trade. Sec Joel whipped up his signature espresso based cappuccino and latte to use for Chef Boy’s Sizzling Salmon Steak for the audience composed of students, senior citizens, women’s organizations and members of the media present. Sec Joel made different hot and cold coffee concoctions and he also showed how to properly serve them to clients and customers.

The skills demo illustrates the high regard for tech-voc as viable career option for our kababayans and to eradicate the stigma against technical and vocational courses. During the demonstration, Sec Joel also told Chef Boy’s life’s story and how he rose to his present stature for embracing tech-voc.
