BUTUAN CITY – Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director-General, Sec. Guiling A. Mamondiong enjoined industry and TVET stakeholders in Caraga Region to support the programs of the Duterte administration.
This after the official visited Caraga Region to keynote the Regional Consultation of Industry and TVET Stakeholders held recently here.
Sec. Mamondiong said the change has come and the Filipino people has already started to feel those changes – the system of governance from the national down to the barangay levels, “thus bringing the government closer to the public,” he said.
The TESDA chief also emphasized the need for the Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to support the cause of the present administration specifically in providing globally-competitive trainings to the Filipino people to produce globally-competitive manpower.
He likewise challenged the TVET stakeholders to upgrade the quality education they offer – may it be in the physical facilities and most especially the knowledge that the trainees will get.
The official likewise acknowledged the strong partnership of the industry stakeholders in the region for the continuous support to the programs of TESDA and the national government, in general.
The conduct of the regional consultation served as a avenue to engage concerned stakeholders in making the TVET reform and development agenda more relevant and attainable and in generating information on regional and area specific skills needs which shall be needed in the formulation of the respective regional technical education and skills development plans.
