February 8, 2019 – Baguio City. TESDA Benguet held their first-ever TVET forum at the Venus Park View Hotel in Baguio City last February 8, 2019.  The event was attended by CAR Regional TESDC Chair, Atty. Betty Lourdes Tabanda, 78 school heads and administrators of different Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs), and 19 assessment center managers in Baguio City.

TESDA Benguet Provincial Director David B. Bungallon described it as “an avenue to clear the road for 2019” as it takes into consideration the Purposive Advocacy of Programs and Activities (PAPA); Active Networks in Delivering programs (AND) and Monitoring Activities and Managing Achievements (MAMA).

The Forum provided participants with updates on TESDA policies and programs. The provisions under TESDA's Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS) guidelines were also reiterated to the participants, and the possible sanctions that may be imposed on violators.

The gathering, aside from aiming to make it easier for the TVIs to work effectively and efficiently with the agency, is also a way to show the support of the region to TESDA Director General, Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña’s “TESDA, Abot Lahat” thrust.

This prioritizes those in the less fortunate or less privileged sectors of society to enable them to find gainful employment and consequently raise their standards of living.
