SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA visited the NCR regional skills competition venue in MFI, Ortigas Center. Tech-voc students and graduates from different schools and technical institutions in Metro Manila participated in skills trade based on world standards. During the event, the participants do not compete against each other, but they try to meet the standard set by the trade. The test package contains instructions on the required output to be completed at a given period of time. A panel of judges will then rate the competitors based on the given criteria.

"The winners bring pride to their respective schools and provinces. The national skills competition will give them the opportunity to do better and bring glory to the country. Skills are vital to the country's future, and it's heartwarming to see many talented young people taking part and demonstrating their expertise...

"I hope the winners will inspire others to start embarking on learning a new skill that could lead to a new successful career."
