After landing in Tacloban City airport, Secretary Joel Villanueva immediately went to TESDA Region 8 office and met with the TESDA family. It was an emotional meeting after hearing the stories of fellow TESDAns; stories of loss and survival. All of the 351 employees of Region 8 are accounted for but some lost parents, kids, and siblings during the surge. Sec Joel gave out an immediate financial assistance collected from the savings and contributions from central office. Sec Joel also announced incentives and other ways of financial support to the affected employees.
Sec Joel and the TESDA Central Office will also do another round of fundraising activities on Dec 17 (Dinner for a Cause w/ Chef Boy Logro) & Dec 18 (Kapihan sa TESDA) for the benefit of fellow TESDANS.
