SHOOT FOR YOUR DREAMS is a project of SECRETARY JOEL VILLANUEVA which aims to motivate and help the Filipino youth especially out-of-school-youths (OSYs) to turn their dreams into a reality.
This noble project was launched at the Iloilo Sports Complex last week through a friendly basketball game. Sec Joel played with "TEAM TRABAHO", which also included PBA legends Alvin "The Captain" Patrimonio, Jerry CodIñera, Rodney Santos, Bal David, Marlou Aquino and Bobby Jose, together with Iloilo media members RMN station manager Ronel Sorbito and ABS-CBN reporter Jenil Baclay. Their opponent, TEAM Specialista, was composed of TESDA scholars and Iloilo provincial government players led by Vice Gov. Raul Tupas.
Team TRABAHO won over Team Specialista, 100-87. Sec. Joel got 21 points, the highest in the game. Following his lead were Santos and Aquino with 14 points each.
During the halftime, Sec Joel turned over scholarship vouchers to the provincial government of Iloilo, city government, and to the municipality of Mina. After the game, Sec Joel and the PBA legends gamely posed for photos with the fans.
