Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong has sought the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate the bogus Facebook account that uses his name and disseminates misleading information about the agency.

Mamondiong has asked the NBI to punish the people behind the fake Facebook account which uses his name on social media.

“I would like to inform and warn the public about a bogus Facebook account under my name “GENE MAMONDIONG” which had recently surfaced in the social media world. The said bogus Facebook account likewise uses my profile picture and proliferate untruthful news, banners and headlines thereby creating false impression that they are mine. I categorically state that said fake Facebook account is not mine and while I do have my own legitimate Facebook account under the name “GUILING GENE MAMONDIONG”, the same is rather inactive and no official message have been posted thereon," said Mamondiong.

The TESDA chief also warned the public against transacting with the bogus account saying that his agency does not negotiate with anybody on social media.

“I had already coordinated with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for the conduct of an in-depth investigation and cyber-forensic examination to determine the true identity of the culprit behind the creation of the subject bogus Facebook account. Hopefully, the perpetrator shall be exposed the soonest time possible and with much hope, to bring the same behind the bars of law and justice," Mamondiong also said.
