The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will hold a two-day National TVET Enrolment with Jobs Fair for those who want to learn technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and for its graduates.

This will be held on February 27-28 and August 25-26 according to the memorandum issued by TESDA Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong, for the agency’s regional and provincial directors.

“People will see us near their homes or places of work.  More than ever, we will make it very easy for anyone interested to enrol in a tech-voc course,” said in the TESDA chief.

The program will be held simultaneously in various municipalities and provincial capitals nationwide.  In the cities, the enrolment and jobs fair will be held in the districts.

TESDA will also be inviting businessmen, employers and its various industry partners to join the jobs fair.

“Another purpose of this activity is to recruit qualified TVET graduates, most specially for construction-related jobs, such as electricians and plumbers, which are in great demand now that the administration’s ‘Build, Build, Build’ infrastructure program is fast gaining momentum,” added Mamondiong.

The Secretary encouraged members of the public who wished to undergo training in the tech-voc courses offered by TESDA to join the 2-day activities which are aimed to ensure a steady supply of technicians, technologists and world-class workers.

“We are inviting everyone to avail of this opportunity that we will be bringing almost to your doorsteps.  Likewise, this will be a perfect chance for our industry partners to enlist the services of the most qualified tech-voc graduates for their vacant positions,” stressed the TESDA Director General.

Meanwhile, the on-going Barangay Skills Mapping Program also seek to strengthen and ensure the public that no one will be left out in the skills training program particularly those in the provinces.
