TAGUIG CITY – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, in line with the celebrations of its 27th Founding Anniversary and the National Tech-Voc Day, yesterday started the week-long national level selection process for the agency’s 2021 Tagsanay Award.

A total of 14 technical vocational education and training (TVET) trainers from both public and private institutions from most of the country’s regions will compete this year.  As regional winners, they had already undergone a rigid selection and elimination process.

These 14 candidates are now set to go through a series of online activities such as portfolio evaluation, computer-based examination, activity-based assessment, enhancement of training package, and panel interview, among others.

The top eight finalists are expected to be announced on August 19, while the names of the National Tagsanay Award Champion and special awardees will be announced on August 24.

The National Tagsanay Award Champion will walk away with a cash prize of Php 25,000; the 1st Runner-up, Php 20,000; 2nd Runner-up, Php 15,000; and, the Top Eight Trainers will also each receive Php 5,000.

Special awards include: Best Trainer’s Portfolio; Best Trainer in Computer-Based Examination; Best Trainer in Experience Sharing; Best Trainer in Activity-Based Assessment; Best Trainer in Enhancement of Training Package; Best Trainer in Online Panel Interview; National Tagsanay Overall Winner’s Institution; 1st Runner-up’s Institution; and, 2nd Runner up’s Institution.

Held annually since 2015 as one of TESDA’s Institutional Awards, the Tagsanay Award gives recognition and incentives to tech-voc trainers who have exceeded the set requirements and have demonstrated competencies beyond expectations.
