More houses will be lighted up by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region XII through its Project TALA (TESDA Alay ay Liwanag at Asenso).

Recently, members of the Provincial Training Center-Malapatan, together with the 73rd Infantry Battalion went to Sitio Nabol in Brgy. Kinam and Brgy. Upper Suyan in Malapatan, Sarangani Province to distribute 200 solar panels to the beneficiaries of Project TALA.

Project TALA is implemented under the TESDA-led Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

According to PTC-Malapatan Administrator Hernane Forro, their trip to the said areas was not easy because of the rain.

“Nahirapan kami sa pag-akyat, pero dahil pinangako namin ito at matagal na nila itong hinihintay ay nagpursige kami para ma-abot ang kanilang mga sitio” Forro said.

The beneficiaries have undergone 30-day training on Photovoltaic Installation. Aside from the solar panels, the beneficiaries also received their certificate of completion and allowances.

Meanwhile, aside from Photovoltaic Installation, the beneficiaries also received training on agriculture through Project IPEACE (Indigenous Peoples Empowered as Agripreneur towards a Collective End).

As of writing, TESDA Region XII has already distributed 800 solar panels to different provinces in the region. ###
