In a bid to produce more skilled workers in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has partnered with global electronics leader TCL Philippines to launch a specialized training center that will provide TESDA learners with advanced, hands-on learning experience and clear employment pathways.

The collaboration was formally sealed through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held at the newly established TESDA–TCL Center located at the TESDA Regional Training Center–National Capital Region (RTC-NCR) in Taguig City.

This new partnership supports TESDA’s thrust to modernize training programs, deepen industry engagement, and better align skills development with labor market needs.

The TESDA–TCL Center will serve as a dedicated hub for training students under the Domestic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (DOMRAC) program, equipping them with highly in-demand technical skills using TCL’s cutting-edge air conditioning technology.

“TESDA is fortunate to partner with TCL once again, and we wholeheartedly welcome this promising collaboration which arrives at a truly opportune moment. TCL’s generous donation of equipment and technical training will be invaluable in providing our students with the essential hands-on experience they need for their future careers,” said RTC-NCR Center Administrator Eugene Agcaoili.

“We are also very excited about the potential for Training to Trabaho opportunities through this initiative, which directly supports our goal of building a strong, future-ready workforce,” he added.

The TESDA–TCL Center features two key learning spaces: a fully functional training room where students can practice assembling, installing, and servicing air conditioning units; and, a modern lecture room equipped with TCL televisions and air conditioning units to support theoretical and digital learning.

These facilities will be used by TESDA trainers and TCL air conditioning service experts to deliver updated, industry-relevant training, closing the gap between classroom instruction and real-world application.

TCL has also committed to donating additional appliances—including refrigerators, televisions, and air conditioning units—to further upgrade other TESDA training spaces and enhance the learning environment for all trainees.

“We are proud to work alongside TESDA in helping cultivate the next generation of Filipino HVAC professionals. This partnership allows us to share our expertise and resources where they matter most—building a skilled and empowered workforce,” said TCL Philippines Brand Manager Joseph Cernitchez.

“We believe this collaboration will inspire students to reach new heights and prepare them for successful, long-term careers in the industry,” he added.

TESDA’s partnership with TCL represents a strategic model of public-private collaboration, providing learners not only with training but also with direct exposure to industry tools and potential career placement.
