Strengthening how users verify their identity on the digital platform, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently introduced a new electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) feature in its TESDA Skills Passport (TSP).
The eKYC feature allows users to validate their identity through multiple secure options. They may match their personal information against PhilSys with a liveness check, or verify using their National ID number or QR code. The system also supports alternative government-issued IDs, including Passport, Driver's License, SSS ID, GSIS eCard, UMID, Postal ID, Voter's ID, and PhilHealth ID.
The enhancement is aimed at making identity verification more secure and more accessible, allowing more Filipinos to safely establish a verified digital identity through their skills profile.
TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez said the improved verification process reinforces the platform's role as a trusted, secure repository for learners' skills, qualifications, certifications, and training records.
"The TESDA Skills Passport empowers Filipinos to take charge of their skills development journey. It provides a digital identity that can help learners and workers showcase their competencies, access opportunities, and connect with employment and training services more efficiently," Sec. Kiko said.
The rollout of eKYC comes as the Skills Passport continues to gain traction nationwide. Latest data show the platform has recorded a total of 243,899 downloads, with 194,655 on Android devices and 49,244 on iOS, alongside 179,284 registered users.
Through the mobile application, verified users can access training opportunities, scholarship information, job listings, and learning pathways, among other TESDA services.
"Through the TESDA Skills Passport, we are making it easier for Filipinos to build their careers through tech-voc, connect with opportunities, and document their competencies. I encourage all learners, workers, and job seekers to download the app on their smartphones so they can readily upgrade their careers," the Secretary added.
Beyond eKYC, TESDA has also partnered with the Wadhwani Foundation to integrate My Career Advisor, an AI-powered career companion, into the Skills Passport. The tool provides personalized career guidance and recommends relevant training opportunities based on a user's skills, interests, and career goals.
TESDA is likewise working to more closely integrate the Skills Passport with scholarship programs and other learner services as part of its broader digital transformation efforts, envisioning the platform as a seamless ecosystem linking training, assessment, certification, scholarships, and employment.
With the eKYC feature now in place, TESDA encourages more trainees, graduates, job seekers, and industry stakeholders to download the TESDA Skills Passport, verify their profiles, and take full advantage of its growing set of features.
The upgrade also responds to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to make government services more efficient, responsive, and accessible to Filipinos through stronger digital systems.
The TESDA Skills Passport is available for download on both Android and iOS devices.
Jobseekers at learners, mas protektado sa pinalakas na TESDA Skills Passport
Upang mas madaling matukoy ang pagkakakilanlan sa digital platform, ipinakilala ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) ang bagong electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) feature ng TESDA Skills Passport.
Sa pamamagitan ng eKYC feature, mas maraming paraan para patunayan ng isang learner ang kanyang pagkakakilanlan. Maaaring itugma ang mga personal na impormasyon sa PhilSys, National ID number o QR code. Ang system ay nakasuporta rin sa ibang ID na iniisyu ng pamahalaan tulad ng Passport, Driver’s License, SSS ID, GSIS eCard, UMID, Postal ID, Voter’s ID at PhilHealth ID.
Layon ng bagong feature na tiyakin ang seguridad at gawing mas madali para sa mas maraming Pilipino na patunayan ang kanilang pagkakakilanlan sa digital platform.
Ayon kay TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez, ang bagong proseso ng pagberipika ay magpapataas sa tiwala sa plataporma bilang repository ng skills, qualifications, certification at training records ng mga learners.

Ang paglulunsad ng eKYC ay kasabay ng patuloy na pagdami ng mga gumagamit ng Skills Passport na ngayon ay may 243,899 downloads kung saan 194,655 ay gamit ang Android at 49,244 ang iOS. Mayroon na ring 179,284 rehistradong users.
Sa pamamgitan ng mobile application, ang mga beripikadong users ay may access sa mga training, impormasyon tungkol sa scholarship, job listings, learning pathways at iba pang serbisyong kaloob ng TESDA.

Patuloy na inaasikaso ng TESDA ang pagsasanib ng scholarship programs at iba pang serbisyo para mapalawig ang digital transformation at gawing seamless ang ecosystem para sa training, assessment, certification, scholarships at employment.
Ngayon na nasa Skills Passport na ang eKYC, hinihikayat ng TESDA ang mga trainees, graduates, mga naghahanap ng trabaho at mga industry stakeholders na mag-download ng TESDA Skills Passport, i-verify ang kanilang profile at gamitin ang mga features nito.
Ang mga bagong features sa Skills Passport ay alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. na gawing mas episyente ang mga serbisyo ng pamahalaan, tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng mamamayan at may access ang lahat sa mga serbisyo sa pamamagitan ng mas matatag na digital system.
