Taguig City – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has opened another assessment center for Domestic Work NC II in the National Capital Region (NCR).
On August 31, TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña personally led the inauguration of TESDA PaMaMariSan (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan) Training and Assessment Center (TPTAC) in Marikina City.
In his speech, Lapeña acknowledged the need to put up more assessment centers for Domestic Work NC II as many Filipinos want to work abroad.
“Kailangan natin matulungan ang ating mga kababayang nagnanais magtrabaho bilang foreign domestic workers. Dapat masiguro natin na sapat ang kanilang kaalaman at kasanayan at sila ay competent bago sila umalis ng bansa,” Lapeña said.
This is the sixth assessment center for Domestic Work NC II in NCR. Other assessment centers in the region are TESDA-NavotaAs Training Institute in Navotas, TESDA Women’s Center (TWC), and Pasay-Makati District Training and Assessment Center (PMDTAC) both in Taguig City, Quezon City Lingkod Bayan Skills Development Center (QCLBSDC), and in TESDA Manila Training and Assessment Center (TMTAC).
Lapeña likewise reminded TESDA offices of his directive to establish additional assessment centers nationwide and ensure the integrity of the Agency’s Assessment and Certification System despite receiving large number of applications.
“I trust that TPTAC will all work with integrity and excellence for the benefit of our kababayans,” he added.
Earlier, TESDA said that it is anticipating more applicants for Domestic Work assessment this year compared to the total number of assessed applicants last year.
The agency has also announced that it has already assessed 54,233 Domestic Work applicants just halfway of the Year 2020. This is higher by 7,980 compared to the 46,253 assessed applicants in 2020.
Meanwhile, also present during the inauguration ceremony were Deputy Director General for Operations Lina Sarmiento and TESDA NCR Regional Director Florencio Sunico, Jr. ###
